రోజురోజుకూ బతుకుభారమై పోతున్న చేనేత కార్మికులను ఆదుకునేందుకే తాము అహర్నిశలు కృషి చేస్తున్నట్టు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ఆప్కో పాలక వర్గం వ్యాఖ్యానించింది. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ చేనేత వస్త్రాలు ధరించడం వల్ల ఎన్నో నేత కుటుంబాలను ఆదుకోవచ్చని పాలక వర్గం సభ్యులు ముక్తకంఠంతో అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
చెన్నై మహానగరంలోని స్థానిక టి నగర్, పాండిబజార్లో (నగేష్ థియేటర్ సమీపంలో) ఆధునకీకరించిన ఆప్కో షోరూమ్ను సోమవారం ప్రారంభించారు. ఈ ప్రారంభోత్సవ కార్యక్రమంలో ఆప్కో జనరల్ మేనేజర్ పీరయ్య సమక్షంలో ఆప్కో ఛైర్మన్ గుజ్జల శ్రీను, ఆప్కో మేనేజింగ్ డైరెక్టర్ శ్రీనివాస్ వి. శ్రీనరేష్లు సంయుక్తంగా కలిసి ప్రారంభించారు.
అనంతరం ఏర్పాటు చేసిన విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో వారు మాట్లాడుతూ, రాజధాని నగరం చెన్నై మహానగరంతో పాటు తమిళనాడులోని తెలుగు ప్రజలు నేత వస్త్రాలు ధరించి, చేనేత కార్మికులకు అండగా నిలవాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం సహాయ సహకారాలతో ఆంధ్రా చేనేత కార్మికలు ఉత్పత్తి చేసే చేనేత వస్త్రాలను ఆప్కో మార్కెటింగ్ చేస్తోందన్నారు. ఈ వస్త్రాల మార్కెటింగ్లో ఎలాంటి లాభాపేక్ష లేకుండా, కేవలం నేతన్నలకు అండగా నిలవాలన్న సదుద్దేశ్యంతో ఆప్కో పాలకవర్గం వివిధ రకాలుగా కృషి చేస్తున్నట్టు తెలిపారు.
ఆ క్రమంలోనే చెన్నై, మదురైలలో షోరూమ్లను ఏర్పాటు చేశామన్నారు. అలాగే, రాష్ట్రంలోని ఇతర ప్రాంతాల్లో ఈ షోరూమ్ల ఏర్పాటుకు సన్నాహాలు చేస్తున్నట్టు తెలిపారు. ఇటీవల అమరావతిలో ఒక షోరూమ్ను ఏర్పాటు చేయగా, త్వరలోనే ఢిల్లీలో ప్రారంభించనున్నట్టు తెలిపారు.
ఆ తర్వాత మేనేజింగ్ డైరెక్టర్ శ్రీనివాస్ వి.శ్రీనరేష్ తమ మార్కెటింగ్ తీరుతెన్నులను వివరిస్తూ, కొనుగోలుదారులను ఇట్టే ఆకర్షించేలా పాండిబజార్లో ఉన్న షోరూమ్ను ఆధునకీకరించామన్నారు. ఈ షోరూమ్ ద్వారా యేడాదికి రూ.3 కోట్ల టర్నోవర్ను లక్ష్యంగా నిర్ణయించుకోవాలని భావిస్తున్నట్టు చెప్పారు. 2019-20 సంవత్సరానికి ఆప్కో మొత్తం టర్నోవర్ రూ.400 కోట్ల లక్ష్యాన్ని పెట్టుకున్నట్టు తెలిపారు.

తాము చేనేత కార్మికులు తయారు చేసే వస్త్రాలను నేరుగానే కొనుగోలు చేసి విక్రయిస్తున్నామని, అందువల్ల ఆప్కో వస్త్రాలయాలలో లభించే చేనేత వస్త్రాలు స్వచ్ఛమైన నాణ్యతను కలిగివుంటాయని ఆయన ఓ ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానమిచ్చారు. అంతేకాకుండా, ఇతర పెద్దపెద్ద వస్త్రాలయాల్లో కూడా ఈ వస్త్రాలు లభిస్తాయనీ, అక్కడ ధరలు ఎక్కువగా ఉంటాయన్నారు. ఎందుకంటే.. వారు చేసేది వస్త్ర వ్యాపారమనీ, తాము మాత్రం వ్యాపార ధోరణితో ముందుకెళ్లడం లేదనీ కేవలం నేత కార్మిక కుటుంబాలను ఆదుకోవాలన్న బృహత్తర లక్ష్యంతోనే ముందుకుసాగుతున్నట్టు తెలిపారు. అందుకే ఇతర షోరూమ్లతో పోల్చితే తమ వస్త్రాలయాల్లో ధరలు చాలా తక్కువగా ఉంటాయని ఆయన వివరించారు.
